Driven by the need to save money, improve agility, and take rapid advantage of emerging technologies to improve internal collaboration and customer engagement, organizations are quickly adopting Unified Communications-as-a-Service (UCaaS) and Contact Center as a Service (CCaaS). UCaaS and CCaaS enable businesses to deliver a modern communications environment, without large capital investment, and in a manner that provides for rapid scaling, easy expansion into new sites and geographies, and deployment flexibility. Unfortunately, many enterprise networks are not optimized to deliver the performance and reliability required to support cloud-based applications, including UCaaS and CCaaS. As a result, IT leaders are rapidly adopting Software-Defined Wide-Area Network (SD-WAN) technologies. With SD-WAN’s ability to virtualize underlying network services and to build enterprise-grade WANs using both public (Internet) connectivity and private WAN connectivity, IT leaders can leverage it to su

The idea of load balancing is well defined in the IT world: A network device accepts traffic on behalf ofa group of servers, and distributes that traffic according to load balancing algorithms and the availabilityof the services that the servers provide. From network administrators to server administrators to applicationdevelopers, this is a generally well understood concept.

"Digital Transformation Is Changing How Enterprises Provide Secure Web Access to Users. According to Gartner, “Digital business and edge computing have inverted access requirements, with more users, devices, applications, services, and data located outside of an enterprise than inside.” A New Approach to Enterprise Security in the Cloud Is Needed. Gartner recommends, “Complexity, latency and the need to decrypt and inspect encrypted traffic once will increase demand for consolidation of networking and security-as-a-service capabilities into a cloud-delivered secure access service edge (SASE, pronounced “sassy”).” This new approach requires an Internet isolation solution that: - Provides 100 percent malware-free email and web browsing - Preserves the native email and web browsing experience - Gives users ubiquitous yet secure access wherever they work Menlo already offers the solution that delivers on Gartner’s vision of network security in the cloud. As organizations expand their cloud footprints, they need to reevaluate and consider who has access to their infrastructure at any given time. This can often be a large undertaking and lead to complex, sprawling network security interfaces across applications, workloads, and containers. Aporeto on Amazon Web Services (AWS) enables security administrators to unify their security management and visibility to create consistent policies across all their instances and containerized environments. Join the upcoming webinar to learn how Informatica leveraged Aporeto to create secure, keyless access for all their users.

In the past, desktops, business apps, and critical infrastructure were all located behind the firewall. Today, more and more is happening off-network. More roaming users. More corporate-owned laptops accessing the internet from other networks. More cloud apps, letting users get work done off the corporate network. And more branch offices connecting directly to the internet.

The Secure Data Center is a place in the network (PIN) where a company centralizes data and performs services for business. Data centers contain hundreds to thousands of physical and virtual servers that are segmented by applications, zones, and other methods. This guide addresses data center business flows and the security used to defend them. The Secure Data Center is one of the six places in the network within SAFE. SAFE is a holistic approach in which Secure PINs model the physical infrastructure and Secure Domains represent the operational aspects of a network.

WAN edge infrastructure is changing rapidly as I&O leaders responsible for networking face dynamic business requirements, including new application architectures and on-premises and cloud-based deployment models. I&O leaders can use this research to identify vendors that best fit their requirements. By year-end 2023, more than 90% of WAN edge infrastructure refresh initiatives will be based on virtualized customer premises equipment (vCPE) platforms or software-defined WAN (SD-WAN) software/appliances versus traditional routers (up from less than 40% today).

The Cisco SD-WAN solution is a cloud-delivered overlay WAN architecture that enables digital and cloud transformation at enterprises. It significantly reduces WAN costs and time to deploy new services, and, builds a robust security architecture crucial for hybrid networks. Enterprises today face major user experience problems for SaaS applications on account of networking problems. The centralized Internet exit architecture is inefficient and results in poor SaaS performance. And branch sites are running out of capacity to handle Internet traffic which is a concern because more than 50% of branch traffic is destined to the cloud. More importantly there are many dynamic changes in Internet gateways and the SaaS hosting servers that lead to unpredictability in performance. The Cisco SD-WAN solution solves these problems by creating multiple Internet exit points, adding high bandwidth at branch locations, and dynamically steering around problems in real-time, resulting is an optimal SaaS

In the not so distant past, the way we worked looked very different. Most work was done in an office, on desktops that were always connected to the corporate network. The applications and infrastructure that we used sat behind a firewall. Branch offices would backhaul traffic to headquarters, so they would get the same security protection. The focus from a security perspective was to secure the network perimeter. Today, that picture has changed a great deal.

Enterprise IT is changing. It’s evolving from a rigid, static, manually configured and managed architecture to one where connectivity is dynamic, application services are on demand, and processes are automated. Enterprise networking is evolving along with IT. This has been evident in the past several years in initiatives such as enterprise digitization and as-a-service consumption models, as well as their enablers, including BYOD, IoT and cloud. Add to this, all of the security implications of each initiative. The evolution of IT requires a network that evolves along with IT’s changing requirements – a network that continuously adapts to ever-changing security threats, and evolving digitization, mobility, IoT and cloud requirements.
