IT organizations are largely siloed between the desktop and mobile management worlds. IT has addressed management of mobile devices with modern enterprise mobility management (EMM) solutions. However, Windows desktops have been managed separately using older PC lifecycle management (PCLM) technologies, which have fallen short of basic IT and end user expectations of today’s evolved, mobile-cloud workforce. The VMware AirWatch® Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) solution is a single, platform-independent approach for managing every device and every operating system across any organizational use case. The solution combines traditional client management requirements with modern EMM efficiencies enabling IT to deliver OS policies, patches, and apps over-the-air. Cloud-first management with instant push technologies and self-service capabilities ensure lower cost management, better security, and peak user experience regardless of the device being used to access the corporate environment.

More than 80% of organizations in Asia are not protected against today's threats. Many of them depend on security investments made years ago, which cannot defend against new and emerging threats. The arrival of new technologies including cloud computing, the Internet of Things, mobility, bring your own device (BYOD), and social media have massively increased attack surfaces and expanded the threat landscape. New agile solutions are required that can address today's threats and enable organizations to adjust their security posture as the threat landscape evolves. Download this whitepaper to know more about key recommendations including: • Working with third parties to evaluate your current cybersecurity posture and identify vulnerabilities • Upgrading and update your cybersecurity assets with a particular focus on ensuring that firewalls are upgraded • Ensuring that your organization has a unified view of your assets and the threat environment

To enable always-on application access and business connectivity, you need a rock-solid network foundation. The increasingly complex, dynamic and fluid relationship between networks and devices requires a new approach to IP Address Management (IPAM) – one that unifies mobile security, address management, automation and self-service to provide actionable network intelligence and a broad span of control. This paper discusses the critical role of IPAM in providing a smarter way to connect mobile devices, applications, virtual environments and clouds.

Organizations invest heavily to block advanced attacks, on both endpoints and networks. Despite all this investment, devices continue to be compromised in increasing numbers and high-profile breaches continue unabated. Something doesn’t add up. It comes down to psychology: security practitioners want to believe the latest shiny widget for preventing compromise will finally work and stop the pain.

Today’s malware authors continue to increase their capabilities faster than security solutions can adapt to them. Whether it’s changing their attacks or hiding malicious code within web pages, it’s more difficult to identify legitimate network traffic. With first-generation network security devices, it is nearly impossible to defend against today’s threats. The situation will get worse before it gets better. Adversaries now utilize agile development and testing methods to develop their malware, they test new malware against the latest security software to increase effectiveness. Next-generation network security devices are emerging that provide the visibility and situational context required to meet today’s threats. These solutions use security automation to provide a sophisticated solution that is both lightweight and agile

In today’s complex network environments, applications, infrastructure and threats are dynamic. As such, relying upon various, single-purpose security devices that don’t integrate with each other results in dangerous security gaps. These devices are poorly coordinated and unable to provide comprehensive security and threat prevention. To protect against today’s advanced attacks requires a natively integrated, next-generation approach to security – an approach that can keep up with the latest application and infrastructure trends and recognize and stop today’s most advanced threats.

NSS research indicates that NGFW devices are typically deployed to protect users rather than data center assets, and that the majority of enterprises will not tune the IPS module separately within their NGFW. Therefore, NSS evaluation of NGFW products is configured with the vendor pre-defined or recommended,“out-of-the-box” settings, in order to provide readers with relevant security effectiveness and performance dimensions based upon their expected usage.

Every day, companies generate mountains of data that are critical to their business. With that data comes a clear challenge: How do you protect exabytes of data that's strewn across global data centers, computer rooms, remote offices, laptops, desktops, and mobile devices, as well as hosted by many different cloud providers, without choking business agility, employee productivity, and customer experience? The solution lies not in throwing more technology at the network, but in taking specific steps to identify malicious actions and respond to them in order to fix the issue, a process known as operationalizing security.

Skills and resources — these are the two elements that make up an attacker’s arsenal. An attacker, however, cannot set out to break security or even perform sophisticated attacks without finding weak points in a system first. Massive malware attacks, email-borne heists, hacked devices, and disrupted services — all of these require a vulnerability in the network, whether in the form of technology or people, in order to be pulled off. Trend Micro has looked into the current and emerging threats, as well as the security approaches tailored for the landscape. Read on to find out how to make informed decisions with regard to the security focus areas that will figure prominently in 2018.

Corporate data spreads across an ever-growing number of applications. Users (employees, contractors, partners, and customers) access those applications over a wide range of devices. Those devices take different forms: desktops, laptops, tablets, smartphones, smartwatches. Each device may use a different operating system. The locations from where people access your data can be on-premises or off, and in any number of places around the globe. Data, users, apps, devices, locations—the sheer number of permutations and combinations is mind-boggling. This complex nature of today’s IT environment opens security gaps and exposes your business to undue risk. To illustrate, try to envision all the permutations and possible entry points for risk in your organization. Imagine that you have 400 users, each using 25 apps. When you multiply those together, that’s 10,000 potential access permissions to manage. Access permissions change as users come and go, roles change, new apps are added, and

The world is an uncertain place. Particularly for cyber security professionals, many of whom have learned the hard way that they can’t rest on their laurels. New technologies and fresh threats are constantly emerging, and these threats come from both outside and within organizations. In our 2019 privileged access threat research, we discovered that almost two thirds of respondents (64%) think it is likely they’ve suffered a breach due to employee access, while 58% say the same about vendors. Meanwhile, the devices intended to make life easier can expose businesses further. Although hostile, external attacks are considered a significant or moderate concern by 61% of businesses, the threat of misused or abused insider access follows very closely behind at 58%. At the same time, 57% of security decision makers perceive at least a moderate risk from Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policies and the Internet of Things (IoT) at 57%. In this fourth edition of BeyondTrust’s annual Privileged Acces
